“Stereotypes hurt. That’s why we’re exploiting them to their fullest.”
That about says it all, doesn’t it?
Fade Resistant is a groundbreaking* webcomic by auteur-extraordinaire** Max KimbroughTM. The comic, which began in 2004 on a bet with a hobo***, quickly developed a “cult-like” following****, racking up many***** awards and recognitions as well as fame and fortune****** for MaxTM, who later changed his name to merely “$.”
It’s a comic about a redneck who dies, meets a repo man in the afterlife, foils a plan by an evil zombie to take over the world, gets fired from his job, meets Jesus, then the Devil, then Santa… all while saving the world and having lots of laughs.******* Simple stuff, really. $ plans on making the plot more complex and mature in the future.
In the meantime, sit back, relax, and enjoy the stereotypes, ’cause they hurt, and we’re exploiting ‘em to their fullest.
*Not really; it’s pretty typical, both in humor and in plot.
**Not sure I’d call him “talented,” per se. Maybe “hack” is a better word.
***The comic actually started in 2003. Go check the archives if you don’t believe me!
****It’s really a cult. “Heaven’s Gate.” You might’ve heard of them.
*****”What the [expletive deleted] is the internet!?” — Max’s mom.
******Don’t make me beg for money.
*******Laughs not guaranteed.
